Visit to the Museum of Montserrat
The Museum of Montserrat, inaugurated in 1911 as the Biblical Museum of Montserrat, originally contained archaeological, ethnological, zoological and botanical materials that the Benedictine monk Bonaventura Ubach (1879–1960) acquired during his travels to the Holy Land, Egypt, Syria and Iraq.
This museum, declared a museum of national interest in 2006, is one of the most important yet least-known museums in Catalonia, with five well-differentiated collections and more than 1,600 archaeological objects, items of jewellery as well as Catalan, Spanish and European pieces of art.
